Tashkent hosts meeting of heads of railroads of six countries
Today a two-day meeting of heads of railroads of six countries - Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Turkey began its work. Issues on development of international multimodal route "Asia-Pacific Region-China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey-Europe" will be discussed within the event.
Note that it is planned to solve such issues as organization of uninterrupted cargo transportation via international multimodal route, creation of favorable conditions for attraction of additional cargo volumes, and also timely delivery of fitting platforms and establishment of tariff rates.
Recall that the first meeting of the heads of railroads of the five countries - Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan was held during December 19-20, 2019. As a result of the meeting, the parties signed a final protocol. The second meeting of the heads of railway administrations (Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan) was held on 23 October 2020, and the third meeting was held on 17 December 2021 in the mode of Video Conference Communication, during which the Turkish side joined the Protocol on development of international multimodal route, also the parties agreed on the prolongation of the current tariff preferences.
