Sea and dry ports - a new vector of cooperation

JSC "O‘zbekiston temir yo‘llari" is actively working to expand transport and logistics cooperation with sea and dry ports, shipping, and transport and logistics companies which have terminals in the ports.

So, cargo owners and clients of JSC "O‘zbekiston temir yo‘llari" will have the opportunity to directly familiarize with the list of services, price list of ports, shipping and logistics companies in the "Partners" section on the official website of JSC "O‘zbekiston temir yo‘llari".  It will allow cargo owners to form the most efficient routes for transportation and optimize transportation costs.

The importance of this cooperation is due to the advantage of sea transportation in the global volume of cargo transportation, as well as the peculiarities of the geographical location of Uzbekistan - the distance from the outlet to the World Ocean by the territories of at least two states.

In August of this year, following the results of working visits and business negotiations, Memorandums of Understanding and Cooperation were signed between JSC "O‘zbekiston temir yo‘llari" and the Caspian Sea ports of Aktau and Kuryk, and with the dry port of Khorgos.

In September, a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation was signed with the Russian logistics company "RUSCON", which is a multimodal operator of transport and logistics services of Delo Group with its own terminals in the seaports of Novorossiysk, St. Petersburg and Nakhodka.

At the same time, on October 5, 2021, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh.M. Mirziyoyev signed a decree on Uzbekistan's accession to the Intergovernmental Agreement on "dry ports" (allows to simplify the procedure for transporting goods by sea) of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).

At present, the JSC "O‘zbekiston temir yo‘llari" has intensified work to expand cooperation with other ports of the Caspian Sea. For this reason, the delegation of the Uzbek railways will take part in the 2nd International Conference "Caspian ports and shipping 2021", in October 19-21, 2021 in Aktau city (The Republic of Kazakhstan).

Also JSC "O‘zbekiston temir yo‘llari" expresses high interest and desire for mutual cooperation with the ports of the Black, Mediterranean, Baltic Seas, and the ports of South and Southeast Asia.
