About the process of construction of an additional railway line for high-speed trains "Afrosiyob" on the Navoi – Bukhara section
In accordance with the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PP-4563 of January 9, 2020 "On measures to implement the investment program of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2020-2022", the Joint – Stock Company "O’zbekiston Temir Yo’llari" is implementing the project "Construction of the second electrified high-speed railway on the Navoi-Bukhara section".
In this regard, the construction of an additional railway on the Navoi – Bukhara section, which has 1 track, will create the prerequisites for a comfortable, safe and reliable movement of high-speed and high-speed trains. Most importantly, there will be a further reduction in the travel time of passenger trains.
Line 2 of the "Navoi – Bukhara" section with a length of 92.3 kilometers is being built at the expense of the own funds of the joint-stock company "O’zbekiston Temir Yo’llari". According to the approved project, this section provides for the construction of 3 sidings, 1 railway overpass, 12 reinforced concrete bridges, 49 artificial structures and 3 maintenance buildings.
Up to date, a total of 1,562 thousand m3 of groundwork has been carried out on the Navoi – Bukhara railway section, out of 2,107.2 thousand m3 total. The construction of a total of 47 artificial structures has been completed. At the moment, the construction of 2 more artificial structures is being continued.
The specialists of the unitary enterprise "Energomontazhny train-1" installed 1605 reinforced concrete supports, laid 60 kilometers of wires during the process of moving an overhead power transmission line with a voltage of 10 kV SV110-3.5, laid 60 kilometers of wires. Construction and installation works are being carried out at 3 protected railway crossings by the employees of the unitary enterprise "Bukhara Regional Railway Junction".
At the moment, 55.6 km of groundwork has been completed and 47 km of sand and gravel have been laid on the constructing railway line. Also, work is currently underway to prepare the foundation for the construction of 5 reinforced concrete bridges according to the project. In addition, railway tracks were laid for 2 kilometers on the "Kuyi Mozor" – "Siding-40" section. For the implementation of these works, about a hundred different construction equipment is used.
It should be emphasized that all the creative work carried out on the initiative of JSC "O’zbekiston Temir Yo’llari" is aimed at simplified transport infrastructure for the population, as well as the centralization of remote regions of the country. At the same time, the ongoing work is aimed at further development of the tourist potential.
It is worth noting that at the moment there is a regular movement of high-speed trains "Afrosiyob" in the directions Tashkent-Samarkand, Tashkent-Karshi and Tashkent-Bukhara. The Tashkent-Samarkand-Moroccan section consists of 2-lane steel tracks, while the Navoi – Bukhara section consists of a single-track railway section.
